Turkey Dance

On Tuesday in Ballet, Hadley had her first turkey dance recital. She was excited that Daddy and I got to come into the room. They showed us their dance and then they asked for all the Daddy's to come up and do the dance with their daughters. Guess who wanted Mommy to dance with her instead? I tried and the teacher tried talking her into dancing with her Daddy. But she just wasn't having it. She ran to the chairs. So I walked out there and did the turkey dance with her. She is a cute little turkey. Not sure why she didn't want Daddy dancing with her. Maybe because that is what they wanted her to do and she likes to dance to her own beat. Sometimes with her it is best to just say the opposite of what you want to get her to do something. Ha! But I enjoyed my dance with her. ;0)

Princess Bubble Bath

Princess Bubble Bath was the Indian name Hadley chose for herself this year. :) She was VERY excited that Frank and I were both coming to eat lunch with her today for her Thanksgiving Feast. They made their outfits and all looked so cute.
Hads helped me make fruit kabobs for the feast. She was very excited to share them.

They make these cute little place mats every year. I still have every single one the other kids have made through the years.

Here comes our little Indian. Princess Bubble Bath.

Hads and her girlfriends were all giggles. Daddy was doing something funny above me while I tried to get a shot of them. ;)

I love her preschool. It has definitely been a blessing to our family over the last six years. I can not believe that we only have one more Thanksgiving feast there. Now that is hard to believe.

End of the Season

What a great first season of baseball it was for Gavin. Their team was number ONE for the season. They were the only undefeated team....until the play-offs. Sadly, they experienced their first loss in the semi finals and they were devastated. They were heart broken, but it just wasn't their night. We were all so proud of the boys and the fantastic job they did. And reminded them that overall they were the number 1 team and that is a harder title to win. They boys all became great friends and worked so well together. We are sad the season is over. I had no idea how much Gavin would love baseball, and no idea how much we would either.
Gavin had his team party on Saturday night and the coach said so many nice things about each boy. Gavin was beaming when he mentioned he had 21 hits in the last 6 weeks. It was such a positive and encouraging experience all season long. We definitely feel blessed to have been on this team. Here is Gavin with his first baseball Coach and trophy.

Taylor Swift 2011

My Dad told me last year that he wanted Ellie to remember being at a Taylor Swift concert with him. So when she announced her Speak Now tour, we started looking for tickets, which sold out quickly. This was Ellie's third Taylor concert, but her first with Mema and Pepa. We ended up having to use Stub Hub for our tickets, but my dad reminded me it was worth it for the Memory.

We have been counting down the days.

As luck would have it, I got a call the day before that Ellie was sick- with a stomach bug.

Thankfully, it was short lived and she was fine the next day to go. But she was still pretty lethargic and not her energetic self. So that was a bummer.

My sister and her husband also went with us. We left early to eat downtown before the show. My Dad picked a little hole in the wall for us to eat at called, Irma's. I had never been there. There were only five tables in the main eating area and the wait staff seemed really frazzled. And then we saw what looked like Taylor's Mom come out of a back room. Low and behold, we found out that Taylor Swift and her closest 100 family members and friends were eating there also in a private room. We thought that was pretty cool. ;0)

We then headed over to Minute Maid Park where the show was and found our awesome seats!! We were on the bottom level, row 15!!!

Frank stood in a ridiculously long line to get the girls their concert shirts.

The Concert was awesome. It was not just good music, she puts on an amazing show!

It was Hadleys first Taylor Swift concert and she LOVED it. We laughed because she was SO into it. She danced, clapped, jumped, and sang all the songs she knew. My mom and Dad kept passing her back and forth. And were amazed with how into it she was.

Out of the three times we have seen her, this was DEFINITELY the BEST concert yet. She sang from 8:30-11:15. It was such a great show. Nelly made a surprise appearance, and they sang together. That was pretty neat too.

Gavin was not too into the concert. Next time I should probably find somewhere for him to go. He sat in his seat with my iphone all night reloading espn.com to watch the LSU vs. Alabama game. Ha!

It is safe to say that on the way home, all three kiddos were WIPED out.

What a memorable night!

How He Spent His Birthday

G had a GREAT birthday. He was excited about everything.

He loved his Birthday Donut.

He loved opening the gifts from us afterwards.

And loved spending most of the Morning and Afternoon playing Wii Baseball.

He loved that I cooked his FAVORITE meal- Spaghetti with Meatballs and Italian Sausage.

He loved his birthday cake.

And Us Singing to Him.

He loved opening more presents....

And celebrating with the family.

Still can't believe he is 8. My Dad kindly mentioned that he is half way to 16.

I wish I had a pause button.

Family Turkeys

Every year the kids get a turkey project. This year Gav had to decorate a turkey with his family and tell why he is thankful. He wanted to use leaves, pine cones, and feathers. I think we made it work. Hopefully when they dry they wont all break off. I love what he wrote. He did it all on his own, "I am thankful for my family because there (they are) sweet, careful (LOL!), loving and nice. He is such a sweet kid.

Ellie had to disguise her turkey. Can you guess what she dressed her turkey as???? Ha!! Taylor Swift of course!

We have fun with this project every year, and they were so excited to bring them to school to show them off.

Halloween

I was so excited to be here on Halloween since I missed it last year. I had my parotid gland surgery on Friday at MDA so even though I wasn't feeling my best, it was still so nice to be here.

Surgery went well but was 2 hours vs 45 minutes and anesthesia and I are not great friends- at least afterwards. I am slowly coming out of the fog and not as nauseous. There was a slight complication during my surgery. The retractor that held my mouth open popped out my bottom front tooth that I had a crown on. So that was a surprise. When I woke up they asked me if I wanted the good news or bad news...I wasn't expecting that news for sure. When he told me, I said, "I guess I am ready for Halloween." They were happy that was my response, but I did start freaking out a little once anesthesia started wearing off. I was told I may need an implant but after lots of prayer my wonderful Dentist, Dr. Murphy fixed my tooth yesterday. Praise GOD!!! I have stitches in my mouth and stents (tubes) up in my glands and I am on a liquid/mush diet (that I am already tired of) for two weeks. But I know things could always be worse. Being down there always gives you a new perspective on things. I was lucky that was all that was wrong and that it could be fixed. Listening to the surgeries that were happening around me that day, I felt very blessed and lucky. My tubes will be out just in time for Thanksgiving. Funny how the last two years, Thanksgiving has been something I have looked forward to more than ever.

So, please ignore the PJ's at 4:30 in the afternoon while we carved pumpkins on Sunday....

The kids wanted to go free style this year. G and E carved their own pumpkins and Hadley wanted a kitty cat, so I tried my best.

Last night they dressed up and went to the neighborhood party before trick or treating.

We have such an amazing neighborhood. Almost every porch participates. And the Haunted house was even better than ever this year. Lots of people from all over come to our neighborhood to trick or treat. It really is a great night. I stayed inside most of the night but did see them off and went out every once in a while to hang with the neighbors.

It was a GREAT night.
