BORA BORA Miscellaneous

Here are a bunch of pictures that really didn't "fit" into a category.

Here is Frank from under our coffee table in our room.

Our favorite cocktail- the Bora Bora

Sunset over Mt. Otemanu

Frank relaxing off our bungalow..

Kayaking the ocean

A trip to the pearl market to pick up two black pearls for Ellie and Hads.

Where we had lunch almost every single day.

The pool where they served fresh fruit and homemade sorbet every day

Ummm....my breakfast plate...seriously fantastic food. And yes that is raw fish. I loved their Tahitian raw fish that I seriously ate it breakfast, lunch, and dinner some days...

Yolo boarding.

The ocean side of the Motu..it was crazy how different it is from the lagoon. We could always here the ocean roaring from the lagoon.

Sensational sushi...

Our resort from the air...

A check off the top of our "Bucket List" for sure.... Not sure anything else will ever top this trip.

BORA BORA Polynesian Dancers

On our anniversary we went and saw a dance show. At the end they go through the audience and pull people on stage....I was shocked that a lot of people said "no." But when they asked me I jumped right up. :) I went on stage and had to copy the girl dancing...I am sure I made a fool of my self, but I was a good sport about it. :) It was on our anniversary night. Frank couldn't figure out how to use the camera but he got it on video. Ha.

They let us take a picture with them after I had danced.

BORA BORA Nightly Pictures

Every night we were there we took pictures with the camera timer.....you can see how much more relaxed we get with each night.

Night 8

I love that we did this!

BORA, BORA The Thelasso Spa at our Resort- DREAMY!

One of the reasons we chose our resort was because it has one of the best spa's in the world. People travel from all over to come here. And I can see why. It is very Eco friendly and it uses water from 9,000 feet deep in the ocean in many of the things they have there. There are salt water drinking fountains....supposedly drinking the salt water from that deep has all the minerals in it that your body needs and is a great detox. I drank a cup every day after discovering this little gem.

I had my first massage there a few days after arriving and I was hooked. I knew we had to book another treatment, and this time I wanted Frank to join me. So for our 10 year anniversary we had a couples massage.

The massage rooms have glass floors over a coral reef....yes...you just read that right...I took my iPhone in the room the second time for a few pictures. ;) The second time we were there we saw octopus swimming across the reef...I was getting a deep tissue massage at the time and I started freaking out and the therapist was quite amused. Ha!

FREEZING SALT WATER in the spa pumped from 9,000 feet in the ocean. It is right above freezing and is one of those "healthy" tubs that hurt like heck getting into and you can only last a minute max...but feels so amazing when you get out. We did this after a salt water steam. Probably not our smartest move...but it felt great non the less.

The leg walking spa. This is where high powered Ocean water jets are staggered in heights hit your legs to get your circulation going. It was pain that felt good...kind of like a deep tissue massage. I can see why this is one of the top ten spas in the world- it was insane.

Another HIGH powered ocean water jacuzzi where you get POUNDED in all directions. Literally you are bouncing around the tub because the jets are so strong.

There are 8 private Jacuzzis and we got one to watch the sun go down over the Mountain after our massages. It was a perfect anniversary...one we will probably never top again.

BORA, BORA Feeding the Rays

Every day at 2pm the resort feeds the sting rays. It was amazing to see and it took me a few days to be comfortable doing it. I was in awe at how tame and trained these little creatures are. They are like dogs. They are called by a shell horn and they all just start swarming to the exact location where they know they will be fed. And they circle around you in and out while they wait for food (raw fish).

Here I am feeding them...

And Frank...

After you'd feed them once...they would swim up your leg in hopes for more food...

These particular rays had two stingers, but they really were friendly and we were told the only way they sting you is if you step on them....so we were careful not to. Ha!
