Hadley...Make a Funny Face...

Hadley has been doing this for more than a few weeks now, but we just got it on video tonight. We noticed one night that at dinner she was copying a face Gavin was making. So we kept making the scrunched up nose face and she kept copying us quite proud of herself. We think it's hilarious...

Eating My Words...

So many of you have been telling me about the "Twilight" series of books. And I haven't heard of ANYONE NOT liking it. A few of you even invited me to see the movie and I laughed at your eagerness seeing the FIRST showing on opening day and I had ZERO interest. I am not a Vampire kind of girl. And it is supposed to be a teenage novel. Seriously..who would have thought???? Well, I am confessing....and eating my words. It is BY FAR the BEST book I have read in a long time. I couldn't put the first book Twilight down. I read it last weekend in two days. And trust me when I say it was painful to take a break from it. Then after finishing it, I had to get my hands on the next book. A friend let me borrow it and I read it this past weekend in two days. And these are not short books people. And I am not a fast reader. It's just once you start reading YOU CAN'T put the book down. So I finished New Moon this morning and my sweet friend handed me Eclipse (the third book in the series) at church today. She knew how addicting they are and assumed I would probably finish the second book over the weekend. I looked at Frank and just laughed when she handed it to me. He gave her a sarcastic "thank you." I think he thinks he has lost me to the Vampires. LOL. I keep telling him only two more books and then he'll have me back. And can I tell you how excited I am to see the movie that comes out on DVD the 21st of this month? Pathetic, I know....but I am addicted.

A Whole New World

I picked up Faithy girl her "big girl" car seat today. You may be wondering why I don't use one of the other kids. Well, Gavin's seat is six years old and they have a recommended life of 4 years, and well Ellie weighs 27 pounds so until she is 40 the state requires her to be in a car seat instead of a booster. So, she'll be in that thing for awhile. Sooooo Miss Hadley got herself her own Britax today. After getting the straps adjusted I quickly put it in the car. I figured she'd love facing the front...we took it for a test spin...not sure if she's realized she has entered a whole new world but regardless...
out with the old...
And in with the new...
I'm sure she'll enjoy seeing us, watching dvd's, and just feeling like the Big Girl she is.

BLUEBERRY RASPBERRY GRANOLA PANCAKES

So my sister in law was talking about some yummy pancakes she's been eating and craving at a little breakfast joint. And well, it made me want to try them. So, I went to the store and threw together what she described and I must say they were fantastic. Gavin is already begging me to make them again tomorrow. So how do you make them?? Easily...

Ingredients:
Pancake batter (I used the large shake and go pancake mix...I told you it was easy)
Granola (I got a few scoop fulls from the bulk bins at the grocery but you could used boxed too)
Blueberries
Raspberries

So all you do is prepare the pancake batter and pour it in the greased pan. I made them large...so one pancake at a time. Add a 1/3 cup of granola to the batter and berries as soon as you pour it. Push them down into the mix while it is all still gooey and wet. Then cook like a regular pancake and voila! Easy and VERY YUMMY!!! Not sure if they taste like the breakfast joint or not- but none the less they were a winner!!

YEEHAW

Today was Go Western Day at school. Ellie was so excited to dress up. When I got her clothes out she said, "My outfit is so cute!" She was singing all her Taylor Swift songs and dancing around the house. Gavin on the other hand was not as excited. He wanted to know why he had to wear the clothes and did his best not to smile or cooperate for the camera. You can tell how excited he is below. But once they got to school they both were running down the hall to their classes excited to see their cowgirl/cowboy friends and were both looking forward to a fun day!

Baby Dedication

Today we dedicated Ellie and Hadley at our church. Gavin was dedicated as a baby so he stood up on stage with us as we promised to raise our kids in a Christian home. It was nice to have our friend and pastor be the one to dedicate the girls. I had a surge of emotions overcome me as we stood on stage and I was trying hard to fight back the tears. Gavin and Ellie already know so much about the Bible and God but I can not wait for the day when they accept Him on their own. It is something I have prayed for every night for each of them, even before they were born.
Thanks for everyone who came to support us this morning. It was a great day!

PHOTO BOOTH

So, what do you do when you are home bound, with the stomach bug flying around and you are tired of being inside doing the same ol' stuff while the rest of the world is enjoying the pretty weather outside?? You discover Photo booth on your computer and your kids can't get enough of it. So, you keep taking picture after picture until you realize you have taken WAY more than a regular photo booth would take.

ONE YEAR STATS...

Took Miss Hadley for her one year well check today..

18 lbs. 3 oz. (5%)
27.5 inches long (5%)
18 inch head (75%)

So, what does this mean?? Well, she weighs exactly ONE pound LESS than Ellie did at one year and is 1.5 inches shorter than Ellie was.... We used to think Ellie was small but Hadley is redefining our definition of small. I sure hope she grows some during the next few months because I have a really cute wardrobe of matching winter clothes for the girls that I purchased ahead of time. I bought Hadley 18-24 months...looks like it will most likely not fit. Wahhhhh....
But, once again it will be fun to have a cute little petite princess...

How She Spent Her Big Day

Hadley had a fun first birthday. When we heard her wake up the kids and I went in singing to her. She was so smiley. Then the kids got in her crib for a few birthday hugs and kisses. After getting the kids to school and taking a nap, we went to meet Daddy for lunch by his office. We went to La Madeline and ironically enough the number they gave us on our spoon was ONE. We then cruised around Market Street until it was time to go get Gav and Ellie from school. After her afternoon nap we had our family come over for fajita's and cake. Hadley was really excited to have everyone over. Then after everyone left I read her a book, nursed her and had a little conversation with her about how much she means to me, how much I love her, and gave her a goodnight kiss. What a great day our little birthday girl had. Great memories from today. I am still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that she is ONE. My baby is ONE. Wow.
