Santa 2009

We were a little late this year visiting Santa- for us anyway. But we made a visit to him tonight. Ellie's sang "Santa Claus is coming to town" the entire car ride there and her eyes LIT up when she saw him. She told Santa she wants a Blue Bike. Gavin enjoyed his car ride coming up with all the questions he wanted to ask Santa. Does he tell our Elf where to go? Does he like Gingerbread cookies? Were the reindeer outside waiting for him? He ran from the car all the way to the place Santa was at very excited. And then when Santa asked what he wants for Christmas, he asked for one thing. An entirely new toy that Santa did not get. (Guess who isn't done shopping after all?) He wants a car that can climb walls and follow a laser beam. Let me just say thank you now to t.v. commercials because this boy has never been a car fan and now that is the ONE present her really wants. So thank you Nick Jr....thank you very much. Hadley spent her car ride to visit Santa repeating and yelling, "I see Santa...I see Santa." That is code for, " I want to see Santa." She was really getting rather impatient in the car. As soon as she saw him from the line, she was pointing to him and saying "Santa" ever so sweetly. But when it was time to sit on his lap, the fear crept over her and she was FREAKING out, gripping me with both legs and arms and screaming. I had to peel her away from me to get her on his lap. So much for wanting to see Santa.
Here was the best of the three pictures taken:

Priceless! So funny that Gavin and Ellie smile like she is not in the picture. I love it!

I too love how oblivious the big kids are to Hadley's deathly fear of Santa! Cate has yet to sit on his lap...

So adorable! We are late to see Santa-we are going Monday. Gavin and Ellie did so good, smiling and staying as calm as can be. I know we will have the exact same thing happen with Anna...she's all talk right now, waving to Santa and saying, "ho, ho, ho." It will be a whole different story when she actually gets close to him!

Bless her heart....maybe next year!!! Last year, I was all done with my Christmas shopping, when we saw a Santa at an event 2 days before Christmas. Addison told him, as she had told every Santa that she wanted princess Barbies! Check, I've got that. Well, he then asked her what else she wanted. She looked surprised, thought for a minute, and then said, "A house for my Barbies". As we walked away, she said, "Mom Santa said I could have two things!" And so it was....Tommy ran to Toys R Us on Christmas Eve, for the $140 Barbie house!!!
