One Week Old

It is hard to believe our baby girl is a week old today. The week has flown by. It's amazing how with each kid the time just seems to go by a little more quickly. It has been a fun week getting to know our new little addition.
The kids are still smitten with her. Gavin and Ellie both took her picture to school today to show their classmates. Gavin's teacher said he carried the picture around all day long. He would constantly kiss the picture, rub his cheek to it, and managed to show everyone he saw his new little sister. Yesterday while he was holding her, he decided he was going to teach her the song "Head shoulders knees and toes." As he sung to her he touched each little part of her body. He definitely is loving being a big brother. Ellie loves to know what her sister is doing at ALL times. She sings to her Twinkle-Twinkle Little Star and He's Got the Whole World in His Hands. She loves to help us change her diapers and used the word "nasty" to describe what she saw yesterday. Ellie was also very eager to help give Hadley her first bath this week. We couldn't be more proud of the way Gavin and Ellie have taken to the big brother/ big sister role. They love their little sister.
Frank and I are trying to get some sleep. I have had milk supply issues this go around and little Miss Hadley eats every 1.5 hours. Because of my low milk supply I have been pumping after every feeding and taking fenugreek pills. So that means I feed her for about 30 minutes, pump 30 minutes and then get 30 minutes of nothing on me before it's time to start all over again. Luckily I think things are turning around and today has been a MUCH better day. I think my supply is getting better- THANK GOODNESS!!
Anyway, I took the time today to make a slideshow of pictures from Hadley's first week. Hope you all enjoy!

Introducing our little Miracle.....

Hadley Faith Morgan
Arrived 2-18-2008 at 9:46 am
7lbs. 12 oz.
20 inches long

She is such a joy and we love her so much. She looks a lot like her big sister Ellie. We thought initially she looked more like Gavin, but she changed a lot within the first few hours. You can definitely tell she belongs to us as they all kind of look alike, but she definitely favors Ellie with Gavin's angel eyes.

Gavin and Ellie are smitten with her and are already arguing over who gets to hold her, who gets to change her diaper, who gets to sing to her, ect. Not a bad problem to have. They LOVE her!

Here are a few pictures of our newest little girl.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

We hope you guys all had a great Valentines. We were hoping for a baby, but no luck. We had our appointment and did a stress test which showed Hadley is doing well inside me and if I don't want to be induced (which I don't) then he wasn't going to make me. Soooo we have another week to wait and see if she'll come on her own.
The kids were so excited about their Valentine's Parties at school. Lots and Lots of candy in the house- they are in Heaven. And then a good friend of mine called and generously offerred to watch our kids so Frank and I could have one last date night before the arrival of little Hadley. We went to our favorite sushi restaurant, Uni and then to Chocolata- it was dreamy!! Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day!

Well, with hours approaching until Hadley arrives, I decide I wanted pictures of my belly with the kids. I have been taking belly shots each month, but none with the kids. So I had Frank take a few with the kiddo's the other morning. As you can see, they love touching my belly...especially my BEBO (bellybutton for those of you who don't read Boynton books). I am not sure my belly is able to stretch much farther. I had my 40 week appointment today and will go again on Thursday. My doctor doesn't want to let me go past next Thursday so we are praying little Hadley will come on her own before then. I do not want to be induced!

So, a friend who has been helping me with this blog encouraged me today to go ahead and start posting. Let me start out with saying I am VERY new to the blogging world and really only intended to start this so you can meet our new baby girl who is due any day now.
I thought it may be nice to share a few pictures of her that we have so far and her story, which tells you why she's our little miracle.
On June 4th of last year I was feeling like I could be pregnant. So as I was Wal-Mart shopping, I decide to take a pregnancy test...and sure enough it was positive. I was so thrilled and couldn't wait to tell Frank, although nervous as this is our 8th pregnancy. We have a history of miscarriages and so making it through the first trimester is hard for us. I go in early with every pregnancy to check my hcg and progesterone levels and see the doctor more often than most because of my history of early loss. My numbers came back great...and we were thrilled. I had my first u/s and everything looked great. By the next week we saw a heartbeat which was the first hurdle to overcome as we didn't see a heartbeat with our previous pregnancy. Then two weeks later we had a scare we were too familiar with. They saw two babies, one had passed, the other had a heartbeat but was measuring smaller than it had two weeks prior. My doctor hugged me and said he was sorry but there was "No hope for this baby." We were devistated. I had to wait a week for the heart to stop beating and was scheduled to have another d&c. I was a wreck, but prayed for peace and for this baby that still had a beating heart. I kept praying that if there was anyway this could be a healthy baby, God would give us a miracle. When I went the following week to make sure the heart had stopped, to our surprise there was a 10w1d baby moving around like crazy and looking VERY healthy. My doctor said he has only seen this one other time and there is no other explanation except for God. Science could not explain why our little miracle shrunk, had a low heatbeat, and then grew to measure exactly to date. (Actually ahead of date Feb. 12). My doctor thanked me for being his patient because he said he doesn't get to see miracles very often.
We found out in September we are being blessed with another baby girl and we are all thrilled! We had a high tech ultrasound that showed she looks very healthy.
Now here we are three days away from our estimated due date. Gavin and Ellie are thrilled and can't wait to have a sister. Gavin keeps asking if he can snuggle her and Ellie wants to "pet" her head and give her bottles. Every day for the past two weeks Gavin has been asking me if today we are going to the hospital. My kids are definitely ready and so are we.

Here are a few pictures of the little lady we are waiting me meet, Hadley Faith.

What we saw when we thought we were looking for no heartbeat..our Miracle (she's upside-down)
