Afterwards we headed home and I made dinner for our family. Gavin requested homeade spaghetti with meatballs and italian sausage. And he also wanted an Italian Cream cake. It was my first time to make it, and made it from scratch and although not pretty- it was probably the best cake I have ever made...and I bake a lot. After spending the night opening up presents from our family we did tent city in the gameroom.
Saturday morning he had a double header in Football. We headed to the sports park at 8am and were there until 10:30. At each game one player is awarded a medal and G got the medal this week at his last game. He was stoked. After the game we took his three closest buds who are on his team to Mcdonalds for lunch. G always wants to eat there and I always tell him, "On your birthday." So we had lunch and then headed to see A Christmas Carol at the movie theater. They were excited and felt like big boys thinking they were seeing a scary movie but I would NOT recommend it for kids this age. The dialect was old school and it was a bit over their heads, but they didn't mind as they ate popcorn and drank gatorade.
Then we headed home for some playtime after dancing wild in the car. We ate m&m ice cream sandwiches, played legos, and then went to the park. Boys, they are so funny. I was dying laughing when one of the boys was grabbing his private area. I asked if he was okay and he said, "Yeah, I just got Wood Miss Lacey...but don't worry..it's not REAL wood, my penis is just hard." Oh the joys of boys. I was dying laughing. G had an awesome sixth birthday. I am begining to realize after this party and Ellie's this past year, smaller parties are more fun, and less stressful. And the kids seem to enjoy it so much more. So here are a few pictures of G's big day/big weekend!! Hope you all had a great weekend as well!
