Gavin caught a stomach bug this past weekend and while it was a rough 24 hours, he has been fine the last two days. He stayed home with me on Monday and yesterday and today I sent him back to school as he was bouncing off the walls yesterday and we haven't had any more bug troubles. Today, just as I was on my way to run errands, I got a call from his school and they were calling to let me know Gavin was in the front office with gas. I tried not to laugh, but asked if he was sick. She said "No, he just has gas and has had gas all morning." She said I didn't have to pick him up if I was busy, but he was in her office if I did want to come get him. So, of course I am confused but think if they are calling I should go pick him up. So I got to school and see him smiling really big in the chair next to one of the directors and he proudly says, "I've got
a lot of gas!" I had to go see his teacher to sign him out and as I was talking to her, I asked, "Has he had to go to the bathroom, did he get sick?" She told me he's been tooting all day and she made him try to go to the bathroom and she went in with him. She said he went in the stall and kept tooting but that he kept telling her "nothing will come out." So she said then they went to recess and he was entertaining the kids with his farts. Seriously?!? I was mortified and laughing at the same time. Entertaining the class with his gas??? So, I've got my own Gassy Gus at home with me now. No fever, no real illness...just gas. Sent home for gas...that's a first.

Okay Lacey...this is hilarious. I could not stop laughing as I read this to myself. I have never heard of someone being sent home for gas and I am sure I will be sharing your story with others. Has he been as gassy as they described at school?
Hilarious...I had to read this to BJ. Is this what I am looking forward to with boys??
TOOOO FUNNY!!! Gassy Gav!
i love it!!!...something with the boys and their bodily functions!!
LOL! You're a better Mommy than me. I would have told the school they could "deal with it" and I'd be back at 2! : )
That is SO funny. I'm cracking up!! I'm sure in a few years he'll really appreciate you posting this for everyone to read. Is your house stinking up? JK. At least he was smiling and happy about it, right?
That is great! All little boys love to laugh at gas right? Is it bad that Brynn thinks it is really funny when she does it? Too funny! Hopefully the gas has subsided.
I am cracking up! LOL! I am with Lindsay....I would have said...funny story, but I be back at 2! :)
What??!! Sooo funny! Can't believe they called you for that! Are you coming to the 5k Saturday?

Hi Lacey,
I am a friend of Britt Pierse and I just had to comment on this post. First of all, your kids are so adorable. Just too cute for words. Secondly, this "gas" issue is hysterical. But I must say, at least it's your boy...my Gassy Gus is my 5 year old daughter, and she thinks it's the funniest thing ever. (we are working on being ladylike:-) Anyway, this story is priceless...love it!
Frank had us rolling in laughter! What a story, our own little kazoo. :)
Oh, Lacey!!! That is so funny-I can't stop laughing! Boys are hilarious!!!
That is sooooo funny! Wish I could have done that when I was teaching. I would have loved that! hahaha!
