Gavin & Ellie's Big Night Out

Last week Gavin's Papa made plans to have him over for the night. Gavin has only stayed away from us one night except for us going out of town and being in the hospital when we had E and H. So, yesterday morning Gavin asked about his sleepover all day long. When were we going to pack? What were we going to pack? Which movie could he bring over? What time would Papa be there to pick him up? He was giddy with excitement. Well, we were keeping it on the down low for Ellie because we knew she would be upset. But we had to eventually tell her and of course with our little drama queen we had big tears. But they quickly dried up when I told her Gavin was going to Papa's so we could have a special night with her. (It's just a little white lie...when they have good intentions..they aren't that bad, right?) Anyway, when Gavin went on his guys night out we took Ellie to Market Street. We met Lexie, Stacey and Greg and Ellie couldn't have been more thrilled. Dinner was great and then we went and walked around. The girls enjoyed the police horse, riding on their daddy's shoulders and then playing in a princess chair at Kirkland's while Stacy and I browsed. When we got home Ellie was soooo excited to get to sleep with us in our bed. She wanted to snuggle all night. She had a really good time but first thing this morning she was wondering when Gav would be coming home. I could tell she missed him. And he called before bed and after breakfast to talk to her and Hadley- he missed them too. Even though they drive each other crazy...they share such a special little bond and I love to see it. Anyway, both of their Big nights out were Fabulous!! Here are a few pics:

How cute! I love those pictures. I see what you were saying about Lexie's hand on her face and Ellie's little smile. How funny! What a fun thing for them to have special little nights like that.

I love the pictures of the girls on their daddy's shoulders. So sweet! Glad Gav could have a special night out with his Grandpa. I'm jealous!
